When light bends, so does our understanding of the world. When you step into Tiffany Wyse-Fisher’s exhibition, you don’t just look at light, you experience it. Wyse-Fisher is the assistant professor of art at Goshen College. Her work is on display in the Hershberger Art Gallery until Nov. 9. Goshen College alongside  Community Pro-Education, a nonprofit, hosted the Mariachi Festival of Goshen Friday, Sept. 12. The festival took place right outside the Music Center, with over a dozen vendors serving food, refreshments, jewelry and more occupying the lawn. It was a full day of celebrating Hispanic culture.  Food trucks were parked in the student parking lot and an outdoor stage showcased live mariachi performances. It is not unusual for Goshen College to have mandatory uppperclass seminars for its major programs. While they all have their separate end goals for their specific areas of study, the art department has been focusing on students’ futures after graduation. The twelfth annual “Arts on the Millrace” festival is coming back again on Sept. 6 in Goshen. Arts on the Millrace is a festival that highlights local artists of all specialties alongside musicians. Joseph Mounsithiraj had a full summer: in April he graduated from Goshen College with a B.A. in art and a theater minor. Then he capped off his undergraduate career by taking the college’s Arts in London course — attending lectures, galleries, theater and music performances. Last weekend, The Riverbend Film Festival made its return to the historic Goshen Theater. This marked the 22nd year that the festival took place. The Goshen College Music Department is saying farewell to 28 active seniors.
