The sharp inhale of breathing

An elephants weight

No match for the paw sitting on my thigh

Such a tiny thing

Not even ten pounds

My body is hurting

But, he’s smiling with glory

I move so slightly

He scampers on by

In the blink of an eye and no goodbye

All that’s left is an imprint

Placed on my thigh

With no maker in sight

The meows and the whimpers

Oh, how time flies

No time to cherish his lovely input on my life

How I’d pay for the pain

The elephant stomps

My sweet faced angel

So far up in the sky
