Senate begins work with new members
Meeting adjourned. Student Senate has established its new team for the 2011-12 school year. With four Cabinet Members and two Representatives at Large, this year’s team will take on the challenges that each school year brings. Among those most emphasized by Senate members are voicing students’ opinions and improving the communication between the student body and the administration. New student senate cabinet set for next year
The 2011-2012 student senate members have been affirmed. Cabinet members for next year will be: Bethseda Zewdie, Grant Miller, Bojana Jankova, all sophomores, and Jan Zawadzki, a freshman. The student senate will serve as a formal representative voice for the student body in shaping policies, strategies and programs. Each week they will have a meeting with Bill Born, in addition to regular meetings with club representatives and the at-large senate. “Happy Hour” with Bill Born
About 40 students crammed into Java Junction for a question and answer time sponsored by Student Senate last Friday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. Bill Born, Vice President of Student Life, invited students to ask any questions regarding administration or campus life issues. Resident Directors Chad Coleman, Heather Goertzen and Jake Shipe were also present to respond. Student Senate brings issues to student body
Student Senate for this fall has now assembled. The Cabinet is joined with four at-large members: Quinn Brenneke, Ana J. B. P. Mendes, Kristen Steiner, and Bethany Yoder, as well as campus club representatives. The group will be working through details of club funding next week. Student Senate ready to fund campus clubs
One of the many groups on campus that is caught up in the busyness of the beginning of the school year is the Student Senate Cabinet. Student Senate hasn’t been very visible lately. But Student Senate can own that. Student Senate so often works behind the scenes – scurrying to a meeting, debating a policy, scurrying to another meeting, gathering opinions of students and faculty, scurrying to yet another meeting, advocating for student representation and running to meetings with Bill Born or Jim Brenneman.
