The Goshen College men’s soccer team was able to pick up their first conference win of the season on Saturday against the Marian Knights, winning the game 3-1 during Homecoming weekend. The women fell 3-0 to the nationally-ranked team. The Maple Leafs were aggressive from the start in this game, looking to capitalize early against Marian. The Goshen College Maple Leafs soccer teams were in full swing on Saturday night when they squared off with conference rival Grace College. Both teams fell to the Lancers in close contest, the men’s team losing 2-0 and the women’s 2-1. The men’s soccer team traveled to Winona Lake for a highly anticipated match against former coach Arron Patrick. The Goshen College Men’s Soccer team defeated Governors State University 2-1 this past Tuesday, for their final non-conference match of the season. The Maple Leafs came into the game with a 3-4 record, looking to get to .500 on the season before hosting Bethel University on Wednesday, Sep. 25. Men’s soccer picks up momentum under the direction of new head coach
As the 2019-2020 fall seasons are underway, Victor Newberg, the new head men’s soccer coach is leading the Maple Leafs in his first season at Goshen College. Currently the Leafs are on a two-game winning streak, giving them a record of 2-4. Newberg, who grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, stayed in the Midwest when he decided to continue his soccer career as a player at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. Both men’s and women’s soccer fall short
Both men’s and women’s soccer faced defeats this past Saturday. The women traveled to the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where they were defeated 2-1 by the Wolverines. The men remained in Goshen, unable to protect the home field as they lost 4-0 to Robert Morris University. The women’s team kicked off the day’s events at 4:30 p.m. with an attacking mindset. Marian upsets both women and men’s soccer
Both the men’s and women’s soccer teams were defeated by the Marian Knights last Saturday. The women lost 3-0 and the men 1-0. The women’s team hosted the 17th ranked Knights at the John Ingold Athletic Complex over the Homecoming Weekend. Both the men’s and women’s soccer teams opened up their conference seasons with a loss to Bethel College last Wednesday. The men’s team traveled to Morey Field in Mishawaka whilst the women hosted the Pilots at home. The men’s game consisted of four goals in the first half. Goshen College Men’s Soccer celebrated six goals this past weekend when they traveled to Sylvania, Ohio to take on Lourdes University. The win brought the men’s record to 3-3 and the first two goals for the Maple Leafs were collegiate firsts for juniors Jimelle Ramkissoon and Joao Vitor.
