New campus entrance opens
A new campus entrance on 10th Street opened Tuesday. The new entrance is the first part of an initiative to restructure the campus over the next couple of decades. When President Rebecca Stoltzfus was appointed to a second term last spring, she proposed a master plan to improve the college in four areas. Her goals include improving campus boundaries, livening the heart of campus, expanding the health and science departments and providing more academic programs for students. The master plan, which was approved by the board of directors, will cost $76 million, most of which will come from donations and...

New 10th Street entryway to replace GC’s Ninth Street entrance
Goshen College’s campus could have a new entrance by next spring. The proposed project, which is steadily moving through the approval process with the City of Goshen, would open an entrance at 10th St. and College Ave. The Goshen Plan Commission has recommended approval of the plans to the city council which suggests that the project will soon have full approval. New house one step closer to master plan
If Goshen College has learned one fact about buying a house in the last 15 years, it’s that you need patience – lots and lots of patience. The college just bought the last house in a line of seventeen houses along College Avenue as part of a long-term master plan to open the campus up to the community, a process which has taken more than 15 years. The plan is to eventually demolish the houses, which are located between 9th and 12th Streets; in short term, the college will use them as rentals. Jim Histand, VP of finance, helped to...
