Goshen Commons makes its Internet debut
GOSHEN – Last Thursday, amidst the small fanfare of one aqua-colored banner, a table of chips and homemade salsa and a gathered crowd of 20, a website went live for the first time. Goshen Commons was officially born, and with it, a whole new way to converse. Goshen College joins PRSSA
Last Thursday, Goshen College received confirmation of chapter recognition by the Public Relations Student Society of America, a leading voice in the nation’s PR industry. Several public relations majors have been diligently working this semester to start a new PR chapter at Goshen College. This recognition allows GC membership in the national organization, joining over 300 other colleges committed to excellence in public relations and communication. Globe, GCTV reap awards at competitions
Goshen College broadcasting students returned from spring break with more to flaunt than a temporary tan. Goshen’s radio station, 91.1 The Globe, and biweekly news program, The Correspondent, received recognition from two separate organizations over the weekend. Several representatives of The Globe traveled to New York City to participate in the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System conference. The weekend-long event consisted of a number of panels and workshops and included an awards ceremony. Film Program Gives Students a First-Hand Look Into Hollywood

Taylor Stansberry, a senior communication and theater double major, Doug Hallman, a senior communication major and theater double major, and Sarah Jensen and Dusty Diller, who both graduated in April, all enrolled at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center (LAFSC) last year. New faculty join GC community
Joining the Goshen College community for the 2009 fall semester are twenty-one new faculty, accounting for eleven departments with new staff. Every school year brings changes in faculty, but this year the Art and Communications Departments have had significant turnover. The leaving of Ron Johnson brings new Assistant Professor of Communication, Seth Conley. Professor Conley comes from Rossville, Indiana, a small town just outside of Lafayette. He moved to Goshen with his wife, Rachel, and two young children, Kiersten and Ethan.
