PIN implements new ICC curriculum
Goshen College’s Prevention Intervention Network is a program that seeks to equip bystanders with tools to prevent and intervene in the context of sexual violence. PIN was created in 2014 by a driven group of students and associate professor of sociology Kendra Yoder, current co-advisor. Each year, PIN members collaborate to present sexual violence preventative training for first-years in their Identity, Culture, and Community classes. PIN encourages healthy dialogue
PIN, or the Prevention-Intervention Network, is a student-led organization that educates and trains other students on becoming empowered to prevent and intervene against interpersonal violence. This year, the group has been led by Brianne Brenneman, a professor who directs the undergrad program in public health. PIN takes back the night
Students and staff gathered at Schrock Plaza last Thursday night to “Take Back the Night” and support victims of sexual violence. The march was hosted by the Prevention Intervention Network. According to their Instagram, “Take Back the Night is the oldest worldwide movement dedicated to ending sexual, relationship and domestic violence in all forms.” First, attendees heard a message from Emma Gingerich, a junior history major on the planning committee for the event. PIN, CAC and athletics team up
This past weekend, the Prevention Intervention Network and the Campus Activities Council collaborated on an interpersonal violence awareness event at the volleyball and soccer games. A table with flyers, statistics and posters was set up at the entrance of each game. Signs saying “Enough is enough,” “We stand against domestic violence” and “I’m _____ and I am a game changer” (the blank for a name) were laid out for people to pose with and snap pictures.
