New sports show to premiere next week
Next Thursday, Sept. 30 will mark the premiere of the Goshen College's new sports show, Sports ReLeaf. According to Ben Sutter, a sophomore and producer of the show, the purpose of Sports ReLeaf is to provide more access to GC athletics. "The goal is to show a broader range of sports, giving more equal coverage," said Sutter. "We want to help get people more energized about GC athletics." GC releases new TV commercials
Goshen College is continuing its advertising presence on television by releasing a set of four new commercials that premiered regionally during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The commercials will air again during the Super Bowl and the 2010 Winter Olympics in February. Explore Media, a video editing company based in Elkhart, filmed and edited the commercials and also produced two new promotional videos to be shown to prospective students both on and off campus. Broadcasting department holds contest to re-name “GC Journal”
When its first episode airs on September 22nd, the bi-weekly student-produced television news broadcast now known as “GC Journal” will have a new name. The broadcasting department, under leadership of new assistant professor of broadcasting Seth Conley, is holding a contest to re-name “GC Journal." The student with the winning entry will receive a pizza dinner for five friends. “The new name should reflect our goal of moving beyond the four corners of campus while adding a bit of ‘fun and flavor’ to the show,” said Conley. Broadcast students take statewide honors
Goshen College ranked second in the television-school-of-the-year category in statewide competition with the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters. Dusty Diller and Taylor Stansberry led the way, each winning awards in five separate categories. They tied for the honor of being the students with awards in the most categories statewide. Stansberry and Diller took first place for "Sim Man," a video news package, and third place for corporate video, video in-depth and video spot production. WVPE broadcasts student essays
