Explain to our audience of singles why twins are superior.
Vaughn: Basically you have a built-in friend.Max: All-time wingman.
Did you sleep in the same crib?
Vaughn: Not in the same crib, but we did sleep in the same room for 16 years. We used to pull each others’ cribs together and then jump from one to the other.
Max: Like we would grab each others’ hands, pull it over, and then Mom and Dad would have to come in.
Which one of you is older?
Max: I’m older by fourteen minutes.
Are people confused that you’re not identical?
In unison: Yes.
Vaughn: While standing next to each other, 6’3” and 6’7”, people will say “are you guys identical?”
Max: Or they won’t realize that we’re related at first.
A note to readers: Identical twins are just that, identical. If you ask Phil and Amelia if we are identical, we will ask you to use your brain.
How was your relationship growing up? Were you more friends or enemies?
Vaughn: I would say…both. There were times where we were good friends, but we were also very competitive with each other, and that would lead to arguments.
Max: I do have a couple memories of being mad at Vaughn, and Vaughn just being like “I don’t want to deal with this” and then just walking away.
Do you have twin telepathy?
Vaughn: Sometimes we know what each other are thinking, but it depends on the situation.
Max: It just takes a quick glance and a facial expression.
Which one of you is the evil twin?
Vaughn: Max.
Max: Yeah.
What do you think is the biggest misconception about twins?
Max: We are always expected to know what’s going on in the other one’s life.
A note to readers: Don’t ask one twin where the other twin is. To quote the Bible, “I am not my brother’s keeper.”
If you could switch lives with each other for a day, what’s the first thing you would do?
Max: Get a haircut.
Vaughn: Probably play basketball.
Do you guys have any good stories about being twins?
Vaughn: Halloween costumes were always easy. You could just find a set of twins and you got it.
Max: There was one time where we were the Weasley twins, but our hair was so blond that the hair dye that was supposed to last like three days lasted an entire month.
Did you look more alike when you were kids?
Vaughn: I think we definitely looked more alike when we were the same height, because we usually were about an inch apart until middle school.
Max: Vaughn was always taller than me, until middle school.
Vaughn: And I still have bigger feet than Max.
Max: My feet are still a whole size smaller than Vaughn’s. Whoever was taller, that was a big competition for a while.
Vaughn: And then I just had to give up.
You are stranded on a desert island and you’re trying to build a shelter. Who’s calling the shots?
(In unison)
Max: Me. Vaughn: Max.
Max: I know how to build.
Vaughn: Max is the handy twin.
A note to readers: Neither Amelia nor Phil is the handy twin.
