Women’s volleyball ends season on high note
Goshen traveled to Grace College for their season finale as they took on the Lancers. For GC, it would be the last match as Maple Leafs for four seniors: Sydney Cruz, Meghan Manley, MacKinnon Tracy and Hallie Vanitvelt. Women’s volleyball falls against Huntington, Marian
The Maple Leaf women’s volleyball team fell in both their matches this weekend as they lost to Huntington University on Friday 2-3, and 0-3 to Marian University on Saturday. On Friday, neither the Foresters or Maple Leafs took control early as the two teams traded points all the way to 17-all. A kill by first-year Riley Woods however, broke the tie for good. The Maple Leaf Women’s Volleyball team dropped their first of eight straight matches away from Gunden Gymnasium to the Cougars of Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Friday. The Women’s Volleyball team fell in their last match of a three-game homestand to a resilient Lancer squad from Grace College. Women’s Volleyball goes 0-2 over the weekend
The Maple Leafs lost both of their games this weekend after falling 3-0 to Taylor on Friday and 3-1 to Spring Arbor on Saturday. The Leafs traveled to Upland, Indiana to take on the Trojans on their home court before turning around to host the Cougars the following day. The Women’s Volleyball team played host to Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon in hopes of breaking a three-match losing skid. Their effort came up short as the Wildcats defeated the Leafs in three sets. The Women’s Volleyball team traveled to the University of Saint Francis for their third conference matchup of the season. In four sets, the Cougars of Saint Francis had taken down the Maple Leafs. On Tuesday night, the Goshen College Women’s Volleyball team earned head coach Jim Routhier his 600th career win in a straight-set victory over Anderson University. The Goshen College volleyball team hosted Crossroads League opponent Taylor University last Friday, with the visiting Trojans sweeping the Maple Leafs three sets to none.
