Patching servers

According to an email sent to campus by Patricia Goodman, assistant director of IT services and support, ITS will attempt to “patch” campus servers affected by the “heartbleed vulnerability,” a computer virus affecting the internet globally.

“We will do our best to schedule patching of servers during off-peak hours, but we may not be able to avoid impacting some services and users during peak hours,” she said. “As the patches are applied, servers will go down for a period of about 15 minutes.”

May term service

Café con Leche

The Latino Student Union and the Commuter Club will host a “Café con Leche” open-house event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16 in the commuter lounge. Food and refreshments will be served.

Planting trees

The Tree Care Committee will host two tree planting events, one on-campus and another off-campus.  The first tree planting will be held near the Dumpsters in the College Church parking lot at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 11. A second tree planting will take place at Mill Street Park and will go from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 19. Contact Joanna Epp with questions at

GCNSA fundraiser

The Goshen College Nursing Student Association will hold a fundraiser at Hacienda in Goshen to raise money for a May term nursing trip to Nepal. Pinatas located around campus contain Hacienda Tokens, which can be redeemed at Hacienda on Wednesday, April 16, for lunch or dinner. 20 percent of the meal proceeds will go toward the GCNSA fundraiser.
