Patching servers

According to an email sent to campus by Patricia Goodman, assistant director of IT services and support, ITS will attempt to “patch” campus servers affected by the “heartbleed vulnerability,” a computer virus affecting the internet globally.

“We will do our best to schedule patching of servers during off-peak hours, but we may not be able to avoid impacting some services and users during peak hours,” she said. “As the patches are applied, servers will go down for a period of about 15 minutes.”
