GC baseball to spend May term in Nicaragua
The demanding schedule of athletics often gets in the way of student athletes who want to do a semester-long SST, but this May Term, the GC baseball team has the opportunity to get around that. Telling The Story: Kenya May Term Group To Debut Two Documentaries
Students from the May term class PR in East Africa will be presenting two documentaries. In this cultural exchange, Goshen College students will have the opportunity to learn about the Maasai, eat East African food and listen to traditional drumming. Led by communication professors Pat Lehman and Kyle Hufford, the May term filmed two separate documentaries of the Ngong and Ndeiya regions, both near Nairobi, Kenya. Not going out of the country for May term? Fear not: there’s plenty of culture and entertainment to be had right here in good old Goshen. May Term Courses a Ticket Off-Campus
This May term, Goshen College students will spread out across the world to work, study and serve. Out of the more than 60 courses taught this May, seven are international. Several more will be held off-campus domestically. Ten other courses classify as internships or “field experience” work. As part of the seven international courses, students will travel to China, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Morocco, Nepal, Nicaragua, Senegal, Spain and Peru. Students to follow in Apostle Paul’s footsteps through Greece and Rome
An exciting new opportunity now exists for students who love to travel, learn, and explore their faiths. A new May Term course, Journeys of Paul in Greece and Rome, will lead participants on a trip that follows in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul on his second missionary journey, as described in Acts 16-18. The path creeps from northern Greece down into Italy through the cities of Florence and Rome. Students anticipate a May Term in the Boundary Waters
May Term is a time for sun, focused learning, and unusual classes. Many students will be leaving campus—some for SST, some for Arts in London, some for Marine Biology in Florida, some for Spain and Morocco, and some for Minnesota. Yes, Minnesota. This May Term, the Camping and Recreation class will be camping in the Minnesota Boundary Waters wilderness for two weeks. The Boundary Waters wilderness area consists of 1.5 million acres of pristine wilderness on the border between Minnesota and Canada. May term knitalong to build community
Knitting will be one of the primary homework assignments for students enrolled in Spiritual Writings of Women for this year's May Term. The course will be taught by Malinda Berry in her final teaching course at Goshen College. According to Berry, one of the main projects will be participation in a "knitalong," which involves several knitters committing to the same project at the same time, either in separate locations or in the same community.
