When I was young and would stumble upon a cookie tin while searching through drawers, I would pop the lid off, struggling, trembling, without patience as the lid would always feel as if it was sealed with glue. However, I knew it would all be worth it after getting my hands on the butter cookies it concealed. But to my disappointment, it would never have cookies.
