Kaitlyn Muns, an image and video aesthetics tutor at SpaceXAI, formerly known as xAI, visited campus on Monday.

Muns spoke in a career planning class taught by Patrick Farran, a professor of business. She then had an informal chat with students.

Muns worked in luxury fashion, and was a wardrobe and prop stylist for TV when SpaceXAI reached out to her via LinkedIn. “‘Never miss an opportunity’ is my motto,” she said.

Muns encouraged anybody with a passion, like her, to channel that passion into AI. Interests mentioned during the event included animation and photography.

“Do the things that make you happy, but also that make you money,” Muns said. “There is a great quality of life in this field.”

Elon Musk owns SpaceXAI, and is heavily involved in it. Muns described Musk as brilliant, determined and escentric.

Muns credits her employment at SpaceXAI to being a “personality hire,” as well as meeting new people. “Networking has become my biggest strength,” she said. “It’s not always the smartest people who are the most successful.”

During her visit, Muns was accompanied by Raj Biyani, Goshen College’s chief innovation officer and former managing director at Microsoft.

SpaceXAI, which is known for its Grok chatbot, has been the subject of intense scrutiny and controversy. In the summer of 2025, the chatbot repeatedly called itself “MechaHitler” on Twitter, which is now known as X. Later that year, Grok was found to have allowed users to artificially undress photos of users without their consent, including users under the age of 18.

Muns shared her positive outlook towards the future of AI. “There are these morally beautiful things you can do with AI,” she said.
