It is the first week of November, which means that this month’s First Friday is quickly approaching on Friday. A live show, tasty food and store specials are just a few of the things in line for the evening.
If good food is what you’re after, you might be in luck. Maple City Market is offering free samples of some of their items, as well as an opportunity to win a free turkey for Thanksgiving. Mattern’s Deli is another place to dine this Friday. Mattern’s will feature pork chops, steak sandwiches, and other satisfying meals.
First Fridays are known for their fine cuisine, but people also come for the entertainment. This month, Goshen’s own Kansas Bible Company, or KBC as they are often known, will be playing at the Goshen Theater from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
The Goshen Open Studio tour is a great chance to check out some local galleries and see the fine work Goshen artists have to offer. Participating galleries include Art Alley, Graber Designs Gallery, the studios at the Mill Race Center and many more. The tour is open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As if the entertainment and food weren’t enough, several stores will also be having special events and sales. Better World Books is hosting a book signing by author Lorie Vincent and having a book sale, Sweet Water interiors is having a holiday open house, and Twice as Nice will have sales on many fashion-forward items.
The First Friday events will be happening downtown from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday. With this much to offer, there should be something for everybody.
