Admissions counselor
Bojana Jankova, a 2013 graduate, will join the Admissions Office as a temporary International Enrollment Counselor. She comes back to Goshen College from Texas where she worked as a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Pinnacle Technical Resources.
Concerto-Aria
The 54th Annual Goshen College Concerto-Aria Competition Concert, held February 8, will feature student winners of GC’s Concerto-Aria Competition. Winners will perform concerto movements or arias with the Goshen College Symphony Orchestra. Performers are Micah Detweiler on marimba; Benjamin Ganger, a baritone; Rachel Mast, a mezzo-soprano; Katie Miller, soprano; Brody Thomas on piano; and Jorge Abreu Toyens and Sam Smucker on violin. Peace Oratorical Contest
Five students will deliver eight to 10 minute speeches on topics related to peace in Umble Center at 7 p.m. February 18. The students are Abby Deaton, Alma Rosa Carrillo Flores, Martin Hofkamp, Lauren Treiber and Natasha Weisenbeck.
Blood drive
Goshen College will hold its annual Red Cross Blood Drive at 9 a.m. this Friday at the College Church Fellowship Hall. Any student interested in giving blood can come without prior appointment. For more information, contact tdemant@goshen.edu.
Bowling
The Institutional Advancement Office will take part in the Annual Spare Time with the Chamber event at Maple City Bowl on January 30. A bowling lane is reserved for GC and the office is looking for anyone interested in bowling on teams of five for one, two or three games. Prizes will be awarded to high scoring teams as well as low scoring teams. A pizza buffet lunch will begin at 12 p.m. and each game will begin on the hour from 1 to 3 p.m. Interested participants should contact Mary Ann Bean at maryannb@goshen.edu.
