Save Jeju Now:
This Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m. in the CIIE lounge, Silver and Paco will be speaking about their activism in South Korea on an island called Jeju, known for its environmental beauty and for being an "island of peace." Right now, the islanders and many others are protesting against the Korean government's naval base construction on the island.
You might call yourself a "global citizen," but are you living it out? This is the perfect opportunity to learn about other international issues beyond the United States.
Come on by the Union building at 10 a.m. to hear their stories, and after the presentation you can join them for lunch at 12:00 p.m. to get to know them and hear more about their lives.
Korean snacks and cookies will also be available at the event.
