Allison Bailey
Female golfers at Goshen College can dust off their clubs because the athletic department is launching a women’s golf team on campus next fall. The person in charge of recruiting student golfers is Allison Bailey, the new head men’s and women’s golf coach.
“I love the small school atmosphere and golf is my passion,” Bailey explained in a press release from the athletic department. “I am excited to work on building the men’s program and starting the women’s program from the ground up.”
Bailey, a star golfer in high school and college, has served as the head golf professional at Christiana Creek in Elkhart, IN, as well as an assistant professional in other regional country clubs. These positions have given her ample experience in leading golf lessons, marketing, budgeting, and organizing events, all skills that will be put to use in GC’s golf program.
Carolyn Davis
Davis joins the GC community as an associate professor of nursing. This fall she teaches courses in pediatric nursing and pharmacology.
Davis has worked for several decades as a registered nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner in Indiana and Texas. Prior to GC, Davis taught nursing classes at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX and Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
After 28 years living out-of-state as a military wife, Davis is happy to settle down again in her home state and share her passion for nursing. “I am looking forward to making a contribution to the profession of nursing by educating future nurses at Goshen College,” says Davis.
Fabio dos Santos
Last April the athletic department proudly revealed Fabio dos Santos as the new head coach of the women’s soccer team. A star soccer player and coach from Brazil, dos Santos brings with him a wealth of knowledge and passion for the game.
“I am extremely excited to be in a strong soccer area and build a regionally and nationally competitive program here at Goshen,” said dos Santos in a press release from the athletic department.
For the past three years, dos Santos has served as the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Waldorf College in Forest City, IA, leading the teams to the most successful three-year run in their history. He has also coached at elite college camps and has played for premier soccer league teams, including the Sao Paulo Soccer Club in Brazil.
Stephanie Miller
Forty-six years after GC established the first women’s basketball team, Stephanie Miller joins the athletic department as the seventh head women’s basketball coach and athletics assistant. Her responsibilities include practice planning, game management, recruiting, budgeting, and scheduling.
“I am thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to use all of my past experiences in basketball to motivate, educate, and help guide young female student athletes to be better people and better basketball players,” Miller said.
Prior to Goshen, Miller served as a teacher and head varsity basketball coach for Hill McCloy High School in Montrose, MI. She has also coached successful upper-level Amateur Athletic Union basketball teams and worked at McCracken Basketball Camps for 19 years.
