The Warehouse Climbing Co. opened its doors in Goshen on 605 Logan Street almost two years ago. It is a bouldering gym with 15 foot high walls of angles ranging from vertical to fully horizontal. The hours are typically 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and continue from 5-9 p.m. for the evening climbers everyday except Tuesdays.

A Q & A with Lily Bowser, routesetter at Warehouse Climbing Co.

Q: Why do you work here? Why do you rock climb?

A: I really enjoy the physical activity aspect of it. I enjoy outdoor recreation a lot [and] since there is nowhere near to outdoor climb, this is my way to train. So when I can go outside I can actually climb something and not stare at a rock. I made most of my friends here, so it is super cool for that.

Q: How important is climbing to you and your life?

A: I work here but a lot of my friends now are from here. So it’s nice to see them a lot because we do the same thing. It gives me something to work towards.

Q: How many years of experience do you have?

A: I learned when I was in between sophomore and junior year of high school. That would’ve been six or seven years ago. I have been seriously climbing since this place opened up about two years ago.

Q: Have you ever had any bad experiences with climbing?

A: Not really, no. I might have hurt my hand for doing something small but it wasn’t serious.
