‘Decorate Your Own Piñata’ with Art Club and LSU
This past Friday, the Art Club and Latino Student Union hosted a Decorate Your Own Piñata event. Aaliah Higareda, Art Club president and junior graphic design major, and Kena Oropeza, an LSU leader and senior marketing major, are two of the many minds who put together the event. When asked about the planning behind the event, Oropeza said, “We wrote down ideas that were not done by LSU in prior school years and tried to think of creative events. I was the one who wrote down decorating piñatas because I thought a craft event would be fun, engaging and unique.” ...

LSU looks toward upcoming year
It’s Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, and the Latino Student Union wants to share about the upcoming month and how to get involved in the club’s activities and goals. LSU, advised by Christobal Garza Gonzalez and Raquel Montanez Gonzalez, is an affinity group that centers around Hispanic experiences. LSU a place for guidance and celebration
National Hispanic Heritage Month is a time for celebration, and with Goshen College’s new status as a Hispanic-Serving Institution, the Latino Student Union is feeling the pressure. “I do feel like there’s a big pressure on this month,” said Gladys Leon Diaz, one of the student leaders of LSU. “Just to make sure we’re being inclusive enough.
