One credit wonder: International Folk Dance
“I get to dance for a credit? Awesome!” That was senior exercise science major Shea VanScoter’s reaction when she signed up for International Folk Dance. International Folk Dance has been offered at Goshen College for over 40 years, although it was originally called International Folk Games, according to Val Hershberger, associate professor of kinesiology and the current instructor. BSU invites and leads: ‘More than a club’
Last week, students gathered to experience a variety of diverse music and dance at the Intercultural Student Dance, one of the many on-campus collaborations with other affinity groups that the Black Student Union has actively brought to campus. “It’s been rewarding to see these events connect people from different backgrounds,” said Jakyra Green, a senior English and secondary education major, and the current BSU president. “What’s even more rewarding is to see the number of Black students and faculty participating.
