The Goshen College men’s basketball team could not manage to break #5-ranked Indiana Wesleyan’s 18-game winning streak.  The final score of 72 – 48 was very different from the score of the previous game the Leafs played against the Wild Cats back in November, when the Maple Leafs lost to IWU by merely two points.

The first period got off to a slow start for the Maple Leafs, who were only able to score 24 points. The Wildcats went into the second half with a 19 point lead over Goshen, a lead that widened as IWU scored 29 points to the Leafs’ 24 in the second half. Overall, the game was not one of the best for the GC men’s team, who only hit 27 percent of their shots and 1-17 from 3-point range.

The game has led the Maple Leafs to a record of 8-15 for the season and 1-9 in the Mid-Central college conference. The men now look forward to a full week off with a bye weekend before facing Bethel College at Bethel next Tuesday. Meanwhile, Indiana Wesleyan continues on with their winning streak, and remains undefeated in the MCC.
