Jan 27 Student Senate Meeting: In Four Points

  1. FIRSST (Functional Immediate Response for Student Safety Team) – Details were discussed in regards to a proposal for funding and possible institutionalization of FIRSST. FIRSST meets Friday (Jan 30) at 10:00 a.m. in the basement of the library to discuss the shuttle service in greater detail. This shuttle service began operation last weekend.
  2. SMRT (Sexual Misconduct Response Team) – Planning continues for the upcoming informational forum regarding SMRT. The date has yet to be determined.
  3. New Press Section – The webpage for Student Senate, found on the GC website, has a new listing of articles written about Senate-related topics that have appeared in various publications, including the Record. The link is: https://www.goshen.edu/senate/press/
  4. Improving Wellness for Life – Concerns about the CORE class “Wellness for Life” are being addressed in Student Senate’s proposal to critique the current curriculum. The proposal addresses calorie counting and sexuality.
