The Goshen College Men’s Basketball team continued on their early season hot streak, beating the visiting Madonna University Crusaders by a final score of 100-81.

The Maple Leafs were fighting the Crusaders basket for basket early in the game, however a quick 13 point swing in the Maple Leafs favor turned the tides towards the Leafs. The Maple Leafs never looked back after this swing, even with the Crusaders fighting hard throughout the game.

The starting core of the Maple Leafs were the main offensive stars of this game, with each of the starting five scoring in double digits; Sophomore Stefon Lucky and Junior Jerron Jamerson both totaled 23 points on the night, Senior Kyle Davis notched 16 points, and Senior Matthew Martin and junior Matthew Glick both totaled 14 points apiece.

The Maple Leafs also were stellar from the three point range, with the team hitting a total of 10-for-16 from three point range on the night. Leading the Leafs in threes was Lucky, who went 4-for-5 on the night from three point range.

The Maple Leafs defense was an important part of the win, with the Maple Leafs totaling five blocks on the night, with three of them coming from Jamerson.

The Maple Leafs hit the road this Friday as they travel to Wisconsin to play Platteville and Eau Claire in the Platteville tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Leafs are then in action Next Tuesday as they start Crossroad League Conference play as they travel to Taylor University.

The Maple Leafs’ next home game is November 27th as the Maple Leafs take on Crossroads rival Bethel College.
