Financial aid award letters are moving online next year.

Instead of getting hard copy letters of financial aid awards in the mail, next year students will receive emails that direct them online to JICS to view their awards. Students already use JICS to register for classes or check their online accounts, so next year they will be able to check financial aid as well.

“We believe this will provide a better service to students, as the awards can be viewed anywhere at any time after you are awarded,” said Judy Moore, financial aid director. “The awards will get to students faster, as they won't have to wait for us to print them, then stuff the envelopes and get them to campus mail.”

This change will also be better for the environment. Under the current award-distribution system, financial aid prints off three copies of each award—the award, a duplicate and a return copy. Often, students revise their statements, which requires more paper.

If students want to change loans or revise their statements next year, they will need to notify the financial aid office by emailing them at finaid@goshen.edu.
