Dear Captain Advice

Dear Captain Advice,

My roommate has begun sleepwalking. I’m nervous for his safety and mine. What should I do? –“Sleep-deprived” on Kratz 3

Do not worry, “sleep deprived.”  It is highly unlikely your roommate will kill you in your sleep.  Science did a study that showed there is only an eight percent chance of this happening.  If you are still concerned, I would recommend tying him to his bed every night after he falls asleep.

Dear Captain Advice,

My first exam of the semester is next Monday, but kickoff is this weekend and my friends and I were planning on spending the whole weekend having fun. If I save all my studying for Sunday night, what are your best late-night study session tips? –“Self-proclaimed Slacker” on Miller 3

Learning to skim-read is effective.  With a couple hours of practice, you can be almost as good a skim-reader as me.  I am at the point where I can just flip through the pages in about 12 seconds.  Multi-tasking is also effective.  Learning to read, eat, and sleep at the same time is a very important skill to have for studying and in life in general.
