Nov. 9, 1979: Steven Johns, a senior, showed a four-leaf clover to Tina Yoder. Collecting four-leaf clovers was a hobby of Johns’—in fact, in his record-high year, Johns’ collected 290.
Johns’ said it was the uniqueness of his hobby that motivated him. However, sometimes his hobby distracted him: once, when walking to a dinner date, Johns’ said, he noticed a clump of clovers. He spent the next 20 minutes searching in the grass.
